A mere thought of walking into nature ignites one’s soul and rejuvenates mind and body. I was fortunate to born and brought-up in a rustic village of Rajasthan, cherished my childhood amidst nature, the green fields, clean air and farm fresh food. Running around from field to field and playing with friends and cousins all day long was a priceless luxury. In fact, my schooling started under a big peepal tree 😊 at the school. Those days were the best days of my life with minimal facilities but lots of love and laughter 😃 ❤️.
But we want more, and to get that more, moved to city for better education and life. Though today I doubt which is the better life, a simple life amid nature or a life where we are inhaling dangerously polluted air. That’s the choice we made! We are never satisfied with what we have and keep striving for more, could be the cause behind rising stress and depression in the society.
To take a break from this fast-forward stressful life, my coach #sattyfitnation motivated me for trekking with a group organized by #HeadquarterFitnessArena over the weekend. It was an overwhelming experience walking into nature. There were moments of self-reflection, rejuvenating sights, climbing around boulders, rock hopping, and challenging myself among the ascending hills.
Trekking helps attaining overall fitness as a whole-body workout. It improves strength, agility and heart health and is also a good way of losing weight, as one can burn around 600 calories in one hour of trekking. Exposure to nature helps in relieving stress and anxiety, restoring calmness for mind and soul 😊
It also improves cardiovascular health as our heart pumps harder to keep up with the oxygen demand while trekking, which leads to increased blood flow to the muscles and brain. In fact breathing in fresh air keeps the lungs clean.
Trekking in a group improves acceptance and tolerance, helping build and strengthen relationships and mutual respect. Sharing the good memories and experiences that come with trekking can also help overcome differences and enhance your ability to adjust and get along with people.
Being out in nature also means taking a must needed break from tech and social media, having one to one communication and may end up making lifelong friends too.
